Meet "Shakespurr." Shakespurr came to us on January 22, 2019 from the Aroostook area where he was a stray who had been staying under a vehicle during these cold nights with temperatures hovering well below -20*C. We'd had a great storm with more than a foot of snow and he had had no shelter and no one to help him survive this terribly cold weather.
Shakespurr was picked up by a volunteer, brought to DunRoamin' and was immediately examined by his new vet who determined that he had been born about March 22, 2018, so was still way too young to be trying to survive all alone - no one should have to do that! He had fleas and dirty ears, but was in good condition otherwise. He had not been neutered, but he is now, as well as being vaccinated, tested for FIV and FeLV and treated for his parasites.
Shakespurr is happy to be safe, warm and loved and so far has spent most of his time with us sleeping, purring, head butting and cuddling - now THAT'S gratitude! This certainly beats sleeping in the cold! He is exceptionally friendly and affectionate, so he's been around people before. We're happy to have him around us. He thanks the neighbour who made a donation to help with his care.
I'm interested. How do I meet Shakespurr?
